Magnolias, the earliest flowering trees, with evergreen leaves. The leaves’ lifecycle, as well as shape and structure always fascinated me, walking in my neighborhood. This piece shows the layers of life a leave with go through, from full of life to silent decay. The skeleton leaf allows light to add a layer of shadows, while the green and yellow ones, hold shape as seen in nature.
