Yin Yang Ginkgo Leaves

The Ginkgo leaves go from a pretty shade of yellow green to yellow in the fall. The colors complement each other. The leaves are purposely not filled in so light can add a layer of shadows on the white background. This piece was part of an art exhibit at the Falls Church Art Gallery.

The piece is embroidered with thread using free-motion embroidery on a regular sewing machine, mounted on pins and framed.

I enjoy making art but also want to be as sustainable as possible – so I upcycle and restore tossed out home decor into beautiful works of art.
