The Creator, Anjori

Its hard navigating through all the negativity we get bombarded with today, and we can all use a bit of positivity to make this world a better place.
The art created at Bee Threadly is meant to do just that!
I’m Anjori (un-jo-ree), owner, sewist and thread artist at Bee Threadly.
I make unique textile art that allow you to feel the art. Making pieces that bring peace and beauty to your living space. A space where you can escape the world.
A little about me ..
After giving birth to my daughter and not being able to tear myself away from her to return to my job in the tech sector, I decided to stay home and enjoy the beginning years of babies and all the cute things they do.
But my project oriented brain couldn’t handle being project-less, so I began sewing. I started making clothes and pattern testing; as my daughter got older, she would ask me for different pictures on her shirts/dresses. Things like trains and bulldozers.
Well that didn’t exist in the aisles of Target or Gymboree. I figured I needed to save some money to buy an expensive embroidery machine so I could make it for her.
Right around that time, I saw a lady on Instagram embroidering without an embroidery machine – just painting, with her sewing machine. And I said to myself – if she can do it, I can do it too!
I created my first embroidery a dress that said EXPLORER because at that time, that is what my daughter wanted to be, an explorer! And I was hooked!

I was inspired again, this time to create art from my embroidery and a vision was born. A lot of my art is just embroidery, but I also work with other mediums, like using fabric for colors or painting fabric for a background.
I detoured for a few years and was making iron-on patches and they were popular and fun. But it wasn’t filling my cup. So Sept 2025, I decided to go back to the beginning. Make art with my sewing machine again. My pieces have been selected for two art shows at the Falls Church Art Gallery and I’m looking forward to many more!
