WHAT’S AN IRON-ON?

Our embroidery patches are iron-on style, which means you use an iron to affix your patch to your garment, fabric, or bag.

When ordering, you’ll have the option to buy a iron-on or sewable version.

HOW LONG WILL THE IRON-ON LAST?

While the iron-on backing is permanent, no adhesive is truly permanent. Wear and wash will affect the iron-ons over time.

There are ways you can keep your iron-on lasting longer: washing and drying on delicate cycle or air drying when possible.

WHAT’S A SEWABLE PATCH?

Your patch will come with a sewable adhesive – a temporary adhesive that requires you to sew the patch down afterwards without gumming your machine. I recommend sewing with a ball point needle if sewing the patch with your sewing machine.

HOW DO I IRON ON THE EMBROIDERED PATCH?
  1. PRE-TREAT: Pre-wash fabric/garment of choice, you’ll be attaching your patch to, without fabric softeners and is free of wrinkles.
  2. Heat iron to medium heat. No steam.
  3. STABALIZE: (Optional) For added stability, especially on thinner fabrics, affix provided fusible interfacing on back side of fabric, where iron-on will be placed.
  4. POSITION: Place iron-on, adhesive side down, on fabric.
  5. PROTECT THE PATCH: Place a thin cotton cloth on top of the patch. This will prevent scorching of the garment and patch.
  6. ADHERE: Working in sections, press & hold the iron down. Apply firm, even pressure without moving the iron around. Hold for about 30 seconds.
  7. IRON BACK: Turn garment inside out and place iron on the back – directly over the design, for about 30 seconds.
  8. CHECK FOR BOND: Allow iron-on to cool entirely before moving or picking up fabric, then check for bond.
  9. IF USING SEWABLE PATCH: Hand or machine sew along edges. Go slow around the iron-on with a ballpoint needle, if machine sewing.
MY IRON-ON IS PEELING?

It is natural for the iron-on to peel with wear and tear. However, if it is still newer, check to see if the adhesive is still there. You can attempt to iron it back on as if you were adding it new. This usually should resolve the peeling.

CAN I WASH MY IRON-ON?

Yes, of course! We recommend washing and drying on delicate cycle or air drying when possible.
